Taylor GS Mini-e Rosewood Semi Acoustic Guitar - Natural

The Taylor GS Mini-e acoustic-electric guitar is all about full-sized sound in a scaled-down body, with solid Sitka spruce for the top and layered rosewood back and sides that deliver strong, rich notes with clear and direct focus. The arched back of the guitar generates more sound from the smaller body, and the layered wood is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for traveling or if you require more durability. The GS Mini-e is built with a shorter 23.5” scale length mahogany neck, so forming chords is a breeze, but you still get plenty of snap and tuning stability for a rewarding playing experience.

Taylor built their brand on distinct looking acoustics, they are not one to simply copy a shape or follow convention. This is probably the reason why the GS Mini is substantially different from traditional parlor guitars that are available in the market, with its distinct shape that is based on their own Grand Symphony body design, only smaller.

The GS Mini is popular guitars because it gives guitarists with real world budget limitations to own an actual Taylor guitar, albeit smaller. And the Taylor GS Mini-e Mahogany is described as a premium edition, a couch and traveler guitar that you can take on stage.

As the label implies, this guitar features a top that’s crafted from hardwood mahogany, which complements the mid-range projection of its small body design. Together with the sapele back and sides, which is basically a cost effective and renewable alternative to mahogany, the guitar is meant to produce a punchy response that even pickers and strummers will appreciate. And since the back and sides are laminate, reliability and durability is improved, making it a viable indoor/outdoor instrument.

The guitar’s shape is a miniaturized version of Taylor’s Grand Symphony body, with smaller dimensions and a total length of just over 36″, making this guitar very easy to carry around for gigs, or leave on a stand in the living room for pick-up-and-play use. The neck is also crafted from sapele, and topped by an ebony fingerboard. It has a scale length of 23.5″ and a nut width of 1-11/16″, and joins the body at the 14th fret following modern guitar designs.

Finally, this parlor style guitar comes with the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics, which feature a proprietary pickup design. In contrast to regular undersaddle pickups, the ES2 pickup up is divided into three sections and positioned precisely to get the sound that Taylor engineers wanted. Controls include tone controls for adjusting the lows and highs, and a master volume.
